One Word

Introduction - परिचय One Word वह शब्द होता है जो किसी एक वाक्यांश या शब्द-समूह के स्थान पर या उसके बदले में प्रयोग किया जाता है । 

वाक्यांश इस One Word की व्याख्या ही होता है। One Word for a Group of Words (Based on the textbook and others) 

1. A person who sings songs.          -  singer  

एक व्यक्ति जो गाने गाता है।                         -  गायक

 2. A person who weaves clothes.   - weaver  

एक व्यक्ति जो कपड़े बुनता है ।                      -  बुनकर  

3. A person who makes pots.           -  potter

एक व्यक्ति जो मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाता है।           -  कुम्हार 

 4. A person who worships God.     -  priest 

एक व्यक्ति जो भगवान की पूजा करता है।        -  पुजारी

5. A  person who serves in the army. - soldier 

एक व्यक्ति जो सेना में सेवा करता है।                   -सैनिक 

6. A person who teaches us.                 -teacher 

अध्यापक एक व्यक्ति जो हमें पढ़ाता है ।              - शिक्षक

 7. A person who begs for money.      - beggar 

एक व्यक्ति जो पैसे के लिए भीख माँगता है ।         - भिखारी 

 8. A person who drives a vehicle.    -  driver 

 एक व्यक्ति जो एक वाहन चलाता है।                 - चालक 

 9. A person who writes prose.          - writer 

एक व्यक्ति जो गद्य लिखता है।                         - लेखक 

10. A person who sells things.            - shopkeeper

 एक व्यक्ति जो वस्तुएं बेचता है।                        - दुकानदार 

 11. A person who buys things.           - customer 

एक व्यक्ति जो वस्तुएँ खरीदता है।                       - ग्राहक 

12. A person who hunts wild animals. - hunter 

 एक व्यक्ति जो जंगली जानवरों का शिकार करता है। - शिकारी 

13. A person who treats patients.          - doctor 

एक व्यक्ति जो रोगियों का इलाज करता है।              -डॉक्टर 

 14. A person who makes things of iron. - ironsmith 

 एक व्यक्ति जो लोहे से वस्तुएँ बनाता है।                    - लुहार 

 15. Father and mother.                           - parents

माता और पिता ।                                               - अभिभावक

 16. Husband of a queen.                        - king 

रानी का पति ।                                                 - राजा

 17. A period of 365 days.                       - year

365 दिनों की अवधि ।                                      - वर्ष 

 18. The day on which someone is born.-  birthday 

 वह दिन जब किसी का जन्म हुआ हो ।                     -  जन्मदिन

19. The day before today.                          - yesterday

आज से पहले का दिन ।                                        - बीता हुआ दिन

 20. The day after today.                            - tomorrow

 आज के बाद वाला दिन ।                                     - आने वाला दिन 

 21. A person who makes furniture etc. - carpenter 

एक व्यक्ति जो फर्नीचर आदि बनाता है।                   - खाती

 22. A person who lives in India.              - Indian

एक व्यक्ति जो भारत में रहता है।                            -  भारतीय 

 23. A person who writes poems.           - poet 

एक व्यक्ति जो कविताएँ लिखता है।                        - कवि

 24. A person who lives near one's house. - neighbour 

 एक व्यक्ति जो किसी के मकान के निकट रहता है ।        - पड़ोसी 

25. A girl or boy who studies in a school.  - student 

विद्यालय में पढ़ने वाली/वाला एक लड़की/                     -विद्यार्थी

 26. The place where children read.           - school 

स्थान जहाँ बच्चे पढ़ते हैं।                                          - विद्यालय

27. The place where the Hindus worship. - temple 

 स्थान जहाँ हिन्दू पूजा करते हैं।                                  - मन्दिर

28. The place where the sick and the  wounded are treated.                                                                - hospital

स्थान जहाँ बीमार व घायलों का इलाज किया  जाता है।      - अस्पताल

29. The place where criminals are kept.      - jail

स्थान जहाँ अपराधियों को रखा जाता है।                        - जेल

30. The place where food is cooked.             - kitchen 

स्थान जहाँ भोजन पकाया जाता है।                               - रसोई

वर्णक्रम में शब्द-सूची देने वाली पुस्तक ।                       - शब्दकोश 

32. The season between Spring and Autumn.    - summer 

बसंत व पतझड़ के बीच का मौसम ।                             - गर्मी 

33. A strong head-cover for a two- wheeler driver. - helmet 

दुपहिया वाहन चालक के लिए एक मजबूत सिर-कवर ।    - हेलमेट 

34. A substance taken to cure illness.          - medicine 

बीमारी के इलाज के लिए लिया जाने वाला पदार्थ ।          - दवाई

35. A device that tells time.                           - watch

समय बताने वाला उपकरण ।                                     - घड़ी

36. One who travels by bus, train etc.        - passenger

बस, रेल आदि से यात्रा करने वाला।                            - यात्री

37. A circular path for runners.                 - track

दौड़ने वालों के लिए गोलाकार मार्ग।                           - दौड़ने का मार्ग   

38. One who speeks too much.                  - chatterbox

बहुत ज्यादा बोलने वाला।                                       - बातूनी

39. A model that represents someone.        - effigy

किसी व्यक्ति को प्रस्तुत करने वाला प्रतिरूप                    - पुतला     

40. A person who steals.                                  - thief

एक व्यक्ति जो चोरी करता है।                                       - चोर

41. A person who lives in a village.               - villager एक व्यक्ति जो गांव में रहता है।                                     -  ग्रामीण

 42. A period of seven days.                            - week

सात दिनों का समय/अवधि।                                         - सप्ताह  

 

43. Wife of uncle.                                             - aunt 

चाचा की पत्नी ।                                                       - चाची  

44. Refreshment in the morning.                 - breakfast 

प्रातः काल का कलेवा।                                              - नाश्ता ।

स्थान जहां रेलें रुकती हैं।                                          -  स्टेशन

स्थान जहाँ पर राजा तथा रानियाँ रहती हैं।                    - महल 

47. The building where the old things of historical interest are kept.   - museum 

इमारत जहाँ ऐतिहासिक महत्त्व की प्राचीन वस्तुओं को रखा जाता है । -  संग्रहालय

 राजा का पुत्र ।                                                          - राजकुमार

 अपने देश का हितैषी ।                                         - देशभक्त
